Manchester United a caştigat Europa League, dupa 2-0 in finala cu Ajax Amsterdam şi a obţinut in premiera trofeul Europa League la fotbal.

Manchester United a devenit, astfel, al cincilea club din istoria fotbalului care a cucerit toate cele trei trofee europene (Cupa Campionilor Europeni/Champions League, Cupa Cupelor, Cupa UEFA/Europa League), dupa Ajax, Bayern, Chelsea şi Juventus.
